Data and Privacy -  Your Personal Data:

What we need

Mr John Bridges owner of Folkestone Engineering Supplies will be what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide .

We only collect the minimum personal data about you in order to be able to sell goods and services to you.
This does however include name, address, phone number, section one and section two certificate numbers, firearms serial numbers, and descriptions of said firearms, shotguns, air weapons, ammunition that are recorded in the firearms and air weapons register as demanded under the firearms act and on behalf of the home office and Kent police firearms department.

Any payment debit/credit card detail provided as a "customer not present transaction" are not stored on any computers and once the sales transaction is completed the details are destroyed. 

Cookies and visiting web data is not collected.

CCTV is recorded due to security demands and warning signs are displayed before entering the premises.

Why I need it

Sales
For legal requirements under the firearms act regarding record keeping, as per the law.

I will not collect any personal data from you I do not need in order to provide and oversee these services to you.

What I do with it

All the personal data Folkestone Engineering Supplies process is kept secure and private.
No parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.
(e.g a firearms enquiry officer Kent Police carrying out their duty's under UK law subject to the firearms act)

No information is kept for marketing, email addresses and phone numbers are only kept to complete a sale, reply to queries and give quotes that are requested.

Bank details for bank transfer paying customers are only kept at my banks website and not recorded anywhere else.

How long I keep it

I am required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed.

And 5 years for all RFD related transactions as under the firearms act.

I do not keep information or use it for marketing purposes.

This information is not shared with any third party unless legally required to do so e.g. Police.

CCTV is kept on a constant recording recycled after one month approx.

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted.

If you wish to raise a complaint on how I have handled your personal data you can contact  Mr John Bridges.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to Mr John Bridges at any time or call to arrange a time to visit in person to discuss any worries you may have.
